The Pioneers

In 1956 American social scientist and Nobel laureate Herbert Simon and American physicist and computer scientist Allan Newell at Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania devised a program called Logic Theorist that simulated human thinking on computers. The first AI conference occurred at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire in 1956. This conference inspired researchers to undertake projects that emulated human behavior in the areas of reasoning, language comprehension, and communications. In addition to Newell and Simon, computer scientists and mathematicians Claude Shannon, Marvin Minsky, and John McCarthy laid the groundwork for creating “thinking” machines from computers.

Morning breath comes mostly from bacteria that live in the mouth. More than 500 types of oral bacteria have been identified in people so far. While we are sleeping, the flow of saliva in our mouths decreases, leaving the bacteria alone, producing things such as sulfur gases. These orally produced sulfur gases — with names like hydrogen sulfide, methylmercaptan, and dimethyl sulfide — plus some other miscellaneous by-products of bacterial metabolism, account for 90 percent of bad breath that can’t be traced to an outside cause.

Hawking Radiation

Stephen Hawking showed in the early 1970s that black holes are not completely black. They have a slight tint of gray, if you will. That means black holes do not just suck everything in — or accrete, as they call it scientifically — but in fact they must radiate some energy out. This process is known as Hawking radiation. The intensity of Hawking radiation is determined by the temperature of the black hole. The higher it is, the more intense the radiation is, just like a hot bar of metal emits much more heat than a cold one.

History: Scythians

The Scythians were a network of culturally similar tribes that ranged from Siberia to Egypt almost 3,000 years ago and faded away around A.D. 100. The Greek historian Herodotus describes the Scythians as murderous nomads. The Scythians’ exploits struck fear into the hearts of the ancient Greeks and Persians. Herodotus wrote about their violent burial customs, including human sacrifice and drug-fueled rituals. He speculated that they came from mountains far to the east, in the “land of the gold-guarding griffins.”

Empty space is not really empty because nothing contains something, seething with energy and particles that flit into and out of existence. Physicists have known that much for decades, ever since the birth of quantum mechanics. According to that theory, the space around a particle is filled with countless “virtual” particles rapidly bursting into and out of existence like an invisible fireworks display. But only in the last 10 years has the vacuum taken center stage as a font of confounding mysteries like the nature of dark energy and matter; only recently has the void turned into a tantalizing beacon for cranks.“The vacuum is one of the places where our knowledge fizzles out and we’re left with all sorts of crazy-sounding ideas,” says John Baez, a mathematical physicist at the University of California at Riverside.

Medical Research: Drug Resistance

The World Health Organization predicts that some diseases, including malaria, tuberculosis, and pneumonia, could have “no effective therapies within the next 10 years.” Indeed, 70 percent of hospital-acquired bacterial infections in the United States—which kill 90,000 Americans a year—are resistant to at least one drug, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But scientists are working hard to find more potent antibiotics, and they are uncovering them in the strangest of places, from alligators’ veins to cholesterol drugs.

Now begins the teaching of Yoda.

That is the way for the awakened one to live, with overflowing life, radiating with an abundance of energy; and that is the way for the awakened one to die, overflowing with his joy, his bliss, his ecstasy.

Vast is the world and life is short. Don't waste your time wandering around the world for small positions, for gathering some wealth, some power.

Full of wonderful light you are. You are made of it!

A wonderful light waits within you — a light that has no source, a light that is not dependent on any fuel, a light that has been within you since eternity, a light that is your immortality.

At the center of your being whenever you are, blossoms begin to fall and you are full of spring — a spring that has no beginning and no end.

The witness is the one thing, the most important, the most significant — the only thing which is incomparable in the whole existence. You are only that watcher.

Sexual energy is nothing but the creative force. If it can generate new life, it can generate millions of things.

Once a man becomes full of light and knows his own eternity, he disappears into the ultimate, into the cosmos.

Things there are which cannot be understood, and mysteries there are which always remain mysteries. Live them you can, sing them you can, dance them you can, but explain them you cannot.

Those who have known the mysterious, the miraculous, have moved ahead, deeper into the mysteries of existence.

Truth is always present; history means the past. Truth is never past. Always here Truth is; hence Truth cannot have a history.

Bound to become enlightened one is, somewhere, someplace. It is simply a question of your relaxing into yourself.

Close your eyes, meditate.

May the force be with you.

Enlightenment is not a process; it is an event. It is not something that takes years and years then finally you reach the goal. It is possible it may take years and years because you don't want to be enlightened right now. You may go round and round avoiding enlightenment — that takes time. Otherwise, this very moment you are the buddha.
